Peace Matches are hosted in iconic locations around the world to raise awareness of key UN SDG Global Goals. The matches are also held in times of crisis to react and help galvanize the football world to raise emergency aid.
Peace Matches are able to show the power of Football to overcome political, religious and social barriers that can exist between or within communities. The Match is more than a ‘unifying’ gesture, it actually brings together two competing sides, nations or communities, into one team against a Football for Peace team, or it invites ‘Football Royalty’ to play in mixed teams, showcasing tolerance and community cohesion.
Each Peace Match has the ability to generate national and international level media attention by bringing together country-based teams, patrons, diplomats, faith leaders, world leaders, and professional footballers.
